Are you passionate about engineering, with a specific interest in millwork? Do you have a knack for accurate estimation and a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our engineering projects, providing precise cost estimations and preparing bid packages for custom millwork projects.
Responsibilities:
As a Millwork Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting detailed analysis of blueprints and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for residential and custom millwork projects.
2. Preparing, reviewing, and updating bid packages to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
3. Performing takeoffs to determine the quantity of materials needed for projects.
4. Utilizing your knowledge of Innergy to assess and evaluate project risk factors.
5. Collaborating with project managers, clients, and vendors to gather information about labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
6. Monitoring industry trends to help predict future cost increases and market fluctuations.
7. Presenting estimates to stakeholders, explaining the basis for the cost calculation and justifying the proposed cost.
8. Negotiating contracts, optimizing value, and managing costs while ensuring quality.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Millwork Estimator position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in millwork estimation or a related field.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of residential and custom millwork, bidding, takeoffs, estimating takeoffs, and bid packages.
3. Proficiency in using estimation software such as Innergy.
4. Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills to calculate and estimate costs accurately.
5. Strong communication skills to effectively present and explain estimates to stakeholders.
6. Excellent negotiation skills to ensure the best value in contracts.
7. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
